Auburn, ME - Head Softball Coach, Bruce Robertson, is pleased to announce the commitment of another recruit for 2020 Season. Jordan Weese, from Lake Region high School (Naples, ME) has committed to play for the Mustangs next fall.
Jordan stated, "I chose CM because of the campus. It is close to home and the classrooms and campus are the right size for me. You can find everything without the feel of being lost at every corner you take. CM offers me a great education at an affordable price. It is a smaller school with a big school feel. It has that welcoming feeling when you enter the campus."
Lake Region Coach, Daryl Fernald, commented, "Jordan's junior season she had a batting average of .351 with 2 Triples, 3 Doubles, 8 RBIs and was walked 7 times. She is a great utility player that can play multiple positions including catcher, second base, shortstop, third base and outfield. She throws righty but bats lefty. She has been a slap hitter in the 2 and 3 spots. She is a great bunter/drag bunter but can also show some power when she needs to. She is a good teammate. Very competitive. Sometimes emotional, she wears her heart on her sleeve and truly loves softball. CM got a great addition to their team."
According Coach Robertson, "We are thrilled to have Jordan coming to CM. Jordan is a team first player. She has a great bat and glove while always presenting that positive attitude that every dugout needs. After Jordan toured, worked out and met with the team, I knew she was the type of player we were looking for. She fit in perfect with the team with her attitude and skills. Being a slap hitter, she will really add some definition to our lineup that will help keep other teams off balance. She will be a great addition to our growing list of recruits for 2020."
On her commitment to Central Maine, Weese added, "I am very excited about coming to CM; I am looking forward to making new friends on campus as well as on the softball team. I feel playing softball will help me achieve multiple goals as we are now young adults with more responsibilities. It will help me stay focused on the field as well as in the classroom. I feel what I bring to the team is my positive outlook and 100% effort. I love the team atmosphere and being a part of that. I understand that it is not always about the individual its about the team and supporting the team not only during the difficult times but as well as the good times."
Weese will be enrolled in the Accounting program at CM.
