Mustangs Drop Home Opener to Bridgton Academy

Auburn, ME - Mike Muise did all he could to give Central Maine a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Bridgton Academy, as the Mustangs lost 4-2 in seven innings at Auburn Suburban on Friday.

Muise had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fifth innings.

JP Somers got the win for Bridgton Academy. He allowed one run over four innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Evan Roberts solid performance on the mound wasn't enough for Central Maine, taking a loss. He lasted just 5 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.

Bridgton Academy never trailed after scoring four runs in the second on an error and a two-run single by Sam Majewshi.

One run in the bottom of the fourth helped the Mustangs close its deficit to 4-1. An RBI single by Matthew Turner fueled Central Maine's comeback. Finally, Somers induced an inning-ending from Kyle Moore.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fifth, the Mustangs faced just a 4-2 deficit. An RBI double by Muise gave Central Maine Mustangs life. But, Declan Donahue got Matthew Toth to strike out to end the inning.​
