SMCC Drops CM in Extra Innings

So. Portland, ME - A walk-off left CM on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to SMCC on Friday. The game was tied at one with the Seawolves batting in the bottom of the eleventh when Nathan Huot laid down a suicide squeeze, scoring the winning run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. SM pitchers struck out five, while CM sat down twelve hitters.

The Seawolves evened things up at one in the bottom of the eighth inning Caleb Chambers hit a solo home run.

Nathan Huot earned the win for Southern Maine. He pitched one inning, giving up zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Alex Biron took the loss for CM.. He went two innings, giving up one run, one hit, striking out five, and walking one.

Max Salevsky started the game for the Seawolves. He went ten innings, surrendering one run, eight hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Evan Roberts started the game for the Mustangs. He tossed eight and a third innings, allowing one run, eight hits, striking out seven, and walking one.

CM collected eight hits. Kyle Moore and Matthew Toth each collected multiple hits for Central Maine. Moore went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Mustangs in hits.
