Mustangs Slip for Third Loss in a Row

Concord,NH - Even though The Mustangs and NHTI both had their opportunities, it was the Lynx  that eventually prevailed 11-9 on Saturday. The game was tied at seven with NHTI batting in the bottom of the fourth when Michael Kernan hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Despite the loss, Central Maine did collect 12 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, NHTI had 12 hits on the way to victory.

Central Maine captured the lead in the first inning. Brandon Varney grounded out, scoring one run.

After Central Maine scored one run in the top of the sixth, NHTI answered with one of their own. CM scored when Varney hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run. NHTI then answered when Walter Hammond singled off of Bryce Walker, driving in one run.

NHTI took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Joe Levesque doubled off of Riley Elliott, driving in two runs and Michael Kernan hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Aaron Welch earned the win for NHTI. He pitched one inning, allowing three runs, four hits, and walking one. Kernan recorded the last three outs to earn the save for NHTI. Elliot took the loss for CM. He allowed four runs and two hits.

Alex Biron started the game for CM. He threw three innings, giving up five runs, six hits, striking out four, and walking zero. Mason Gaudette started the game for NHTI. He went three innings, surrendering four runs, and four hits.

Biron, Matthew Tremble, Kyle Moore, and Alec Collins each collected multiple hits for Central Maine Mustangs. Collins, Moore, Tremble, and Biron each managed two hits to lead the Mustangs.

Levesque and Steve Moran each collected multiple hits for NHTI.
