Women's Soccer Schedule Announced

Auburn, ME - The CM Athletic Department is pleased to unveil the 13-game schedule for the Women's Soccer team this fall.  The Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) is now operating with only 1 division for soccer, so Coach Rob Rodriguez's squad will face some new opponents.

The Mustangs kick-off their 2017 campaign with 3 games in 4 days starting with a road trip to take on the Clippers of UMaine-Machias on Friday, September 1st. On Sunday, Setpember 3rd, CM will host the Seawolves of University of New Brunswick - St John for the first time in program history.  The following day they will travel to Brockton, MA to take on Massasoit CC (NJCAA), another program first.

After a brief break in game-action, the Mustangs host 4 straight YSCC matchups starting with the College of St Joseph's (VT) Fighting Saints on Sunday, September 10th.  The following Wednesday (September 13th), CM plays host to Southern Maine CC, followed by a weekend double-header against Hampshire College (Saturday, September 16th) and Vermont Tech (Sunday, September 17th).

Following their 4 game homestand, CM goes back on the road, this time for 4 straight road contests.  On Tuesday, September 19th, they travel to Unity College, followed by a trip to Concord, NH to take on NHTI on Friday, September 22nd.  The Mustangs continue their road trip with the program's first matchup vs. Paul Smith's College (NY) on Saturday, October 7th.  Finishing up the road trip is a October 10th trip to South Portland to take on Southern Maine CC.

The regular season concludes with 2 home contests, the first vs. UMaine-Machias on Wednesday, October 11th, and an October 16th matchup against Unity College.

3rd Year Coach, Rob Rodriguez on the 2017 season, "One of my goals when I came in here two years ago was to have a more aggressive schedule that would challenge our preparation.  We certainly have that now as we begin the first weekend of the schedule with three games in four days.  We have new Yankee Conference opponents on the schedule with the new one-division format and we have new non-conference opponents, so I am excited for the season.  We have a  competitive conference with some very high quality teams and my goal for 2017, my third season with the Mustangs, is to be much more competitive against the established soccer programs.  We began making progress towards that goal midway through last season and we should definitely improve on it with this years team."
