Women's Soccer adds to recruiting class

Auburn, ME - The Central Maine Mustangs Women's Soccer team is pleased to announce the commitment of defender Thea Quick from Buckfield Jr-Sr High School.  Quick finished her high school season as an East/West Conference All Conference defender and will be coming to CM in the fall to study in the Architectural/Civil Engineering program.

After visiting campus, Thea said she chose CM because, "It's close to home, the class sizes are small with the buildings all connected, and everyone is friendly.  The Central Maine playing style will be different from what I am used to and the speed of the game will be a lot faster, but I look forward to being part of a team that is still growing and improving."

Buckfield coach, Larry Thornton commented, "Thea is an extremely hard worker who has a solid knowledge of the game.  Her strength is in her play on the defensive side of the ball, her ability to cover ground quickly as well as taking the ball out of the air.  She has been a tremendous teammate who puts forth the same effort in practice that she does in a game."

According to Mustangs Head Coach, Rob Rodriguez, "Thea is a good outside back who likes to push forward when given the opportunity.  She is quick to the ball, physically strong, and communicates well.   When I watched her play she seems to have a very good sense of when to pressure and when to sit back and contain and I don't see a lot of high school players who can make that decision properly with the consistency that she did."
