CM Sneaks by Lynx 3-1

Concord, NH - The CM Mustangs team completed back to back road wins with a 3 - 1 non conference game at NHTI Lynx.

It was NHTI who started with the greater purpose as they pressed every play in the first. Despite coming off a 9-3 road win at NECC on Saturday the Mustangs lacked rhythm and purpose. NHTI capitalized on a free kick to take the lead with 19:04 on the clock.  Antione Leary snuck in at the back post to finish Billy Declaires free kick from the left wing. Despite NHTI outshooting CM 8-3 in the first half they could not find the net again. It was the Mustangs who were happiest to hear the half time whistle.

The second half was a completely different game. The Mustangs finally began to impose their possession style play.  David Nuzzi's pace was a constant threat on the right side of attack. From an Nzuzzi cross Igor Domingues pounced on a rebound from to finish from close range with barely 6 minutes gone in the second half. It was another rebound goal on 68:33 that gave CM the lead. This time it was from a corner taken by Nzuzzi, the Lynx failed to clear the ball and Blandin Muhimpundu headed in from close range for his first career Mustang's goal.

The Mustangs were firmly in charge now with Igor Dominguez, Jeremiah Gomez, and David Nzuzzi all going close to scoring. It wasn't until 88:29 that the Mustangs sealed the victory. Nzuzzi was the provider as Ivan Domingues added to his tally for the season finishing low under the despairing dive of Steven Newton Delgado. Delgado finished with 7 saves on 10 shots, while Nyagasaza in goal for the Mustangs tallied 8 saves on 9 shots.'

With the win the Mustangs move to 2-0-1 for the season and the Lynx fall to 2-3. With Saturdays game vs Berkeley postponed the Mustangs will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Umaine Augusta.
