Men's Soccer earns shutout over Paul Smith's

Paul Smith's, NY - The Mustangs travelled to Paul Smith's, NY for a YSCC conference game in less-than-ideal conditions. The Mustangs ran out 5-0 winners buoyed by a goal by each of the Domingues brothers, Isidoro, Ivan and Igor. Ordi Bimvy and Moses Lumu also got on the score sheet for the Mustangs.

Paul Smith's were playing compact and looking to transition directly to attack with a more direct style of play. Despite the field conditions the Mustangs were able to maintain the bulk of possession. The Mustangs got on the score sheet early when Ivan Domingues played a through ball for Ordi Bimvy to run onto. Bimvy cooly slotted the ball past the outrushing keeper. This would be the only goal of the first half.

The second half started in the same fashion as the first. The mustangs controlling most of the possession, with Bimvy, Gomes and Lumu impressing in midfield. With 59:40 gone Lumu clipped a pass to Ivan Domingues who controlled the ball and shot low past the Bobcats keeper. This goal was Ivans 18th of the season! Seven minutes later, Lumu would get on the score sheet as he bent a free kick low around the Paul Smith's wall to give CM the 3-0 lead.

Igor Domingues would score the goal of the game on the 79th minute. A defense splitting pass by Jeremiah Gomes sent Igor through who cut back on to his favored right foot before unleashing an unstoppable shot to the top left of the goal. Not to be outdone by his brothers' captain, Isidoro Domingues, would round out the scoring for CM. With 85:089 showing on the game clock Igor would play a through ball for Isidoro to run on to. Isidoro calmy controlled the ball, dribbling forward and side footing his shot past the Bobcats keeper to bring the score to 5-0.

With the win the Mustangs moves to 4-0 in conference play and 7-1-1 overall. The Bobcats fall to 1-3-1 in the conference play and 3-4-1 overall.
