Auburn, ME The Mustangs welcomed the Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Science (ACPHS) Panthers to Auburn for a YSCC conference game.
The Mustangs would run out convincing 5-0 winners. Ivan Domingues continued his fine run of goal scoring form on 6:12. A defense splitting pass by Ordi Bimvy found David Nzuzi on the right wing. Using his pace Nzuzi drove into the 18 yard box and cut the ball back to the trailing Domingues who finished from close range.
With 23:31 gone in the first half Ivan would turn provider for brother Igor Domingues. A nice combination of play between Nzuzi and Bimvy resulted in a Bimvy cross to Ivan. Ivan laid the ball of for Igor who finished well on the back post.
The Mustangs would finish the half 3-0 up when another great through ball by Bimvy found Igor Domingues whose run took him beyond the Panthers defense and he finished high to the goal. This would mark Igors 10th goal of the season and Bimvys 4th assist.
CM was able to sustain periods of pressure by ACPHS. The second half would see two more goals for the Mustangs. Ivan would tally his 2nd of the game and his 14th of the season. Ivan would run onto a through ball by Igor, cutting inside a Panthers defender, his shot rebounded of the inside of the post where Ivan would pick up the ball and finish despite the pressure of ACPHS defenders.
Justin Violette tallied his 5th goal of the season on the 84th minute. A great run from the wing and cross on the ground by Emmanuel Kalala found Violette's run who was able to finish from close range.
ACPHS keeper Ryan Herrick would finished with 15 saves on 20 shots. Mustangs' keeper Arnaud Nyagasaza finished with 8 saves from 8 shots, while Davin Cloutier would not face a shot in goal after replacing Nyagasaza in the second half.
With the win the Mustangs moved to 5-1-1 for the season and 2-0 in conference place. The Panthers fell to 3-3-1 for the season and 3-2 in conference play.
The Mustangs welcome St. Josephs college to Auburn in an exhibition game on Sunday 9/30/23 at 10am.
