Men's Soccer blanked by Panthers

Auburn, ME - The CM Men's Soccer team played their first conference match Saturday afternoon against the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Albany College had a lot of possession and controlled much of the first half but the Mustang defense held and goalkeeper Dido Lumu made a couple of saves to keep the game 0-0 at halftime.

Just 5 minutes into the second half, Panther Sam Rowley collected a ball and fired into the goal giving Albany the only goal they would need. CM came to life, and the last 25 minutes saw a lot of pressure and opportunities, including a wonderful shot from Abdilahi Abdi from 25 yards out that rang off the post. But Albany held on for the win.

Lumu had nine saves in goal for CM while Ryan Hobson had four for Albany. The CM Men's Team faces Bridgton Academy on Monday in an exhibition game before hitting the road for two important conference matches next weekend against Paul Smith's College and Vermont Technical College.
