Mustangs get even with CCRI

Lincoln, RI - The Mustang Men's Soccer team headed to Rhode Island Sunday looking for some revenge. CCRI handed CM a 4-2 loss in the first game of the season back in August.

At 10:07 Mohamed Abdikadir stole a ball in the backfield and chipped the keeper from distance to put the Mustangs ahead 1-0.  That was the only goal in a pretty exciting game. In the closing minutes Dido Lumu made a key save on a breakaway to ensure his shutout and the win for the team. Lumu made seven saves while Alex Johnson made six saves for CCRI.

After the game cHead Men's Soccer Coach, Bryan Wallace, explained, "We played a lot of good defense today, and by that I mean all eleven guys on the field, not just the back line. Whenever we lost the ball we showed some urgency to win it back and I was happy with that. We had a couple chances to put this game out of reach, and we didn't. We need to take more meaningful shots up top and take advantage and finish every opportunity we are given."

CM hosts Southern Maine Community College on Wednesday, Women play at 5:00pm and Men play at 7:00pm.
