Women's Basketball earns first conference win

Portsmouth, NH - The Mustangs traveled to Great Bay Community College to take on the Herons in their YSCC opener. CM used their depth and coasted to the 87-47 win.

Ella Lavigne had a HUGE night for the Mustangs. In just 20-minutes, Lavigne recorded 28 points, 13 rebounds, 8 steals, and 4 assists on 64% shooting - narrowly missing a triple-double. Destiny Mora Lopez hit for 11 points, while Rosa Prieto was back in double-figures, scoring 10 points and notching 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

Twelve of the 13 Mustangs found the scoring column.  Chantel Ouellette dished out a game-high 6 assists; as a team the Mustangs had 25 assists on 39 made field goals.

Mary Paradis led the Herons with 20 points, 13 rebounds (9 turnovers).

With the win the Mustangs improve to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the YSCC. They will be back in action this weekend, when they host the HVIAC/YSCC Challenge. On Friday they play Berkeley College (NY) and host Word of Life (NY) on Saturday in a matinee matchup.
