Women's Basketball dismantles NHTI in YSCC win

Auburn, ME - In their first of two match-ups with the Lynx of NHTI this semester, the Mustangs left no doubt in their 101-38 win. CM jumped out to a 28-7 first quarter lead, hitting at least 24 points in each quarter in the blowout victory.

The Mustangs had six players score in double figures. Ella Lavigne led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 10-14 from the floor in just 19-minutes of play. Chantel Ouellette recorded 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists while also taking another offensive foul. She now has 16 charges on the season and is one away from tying Jenny Schlim's single season program record (17). Destiny Mora Lopez also scored 11 points for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs bench scored 47 points. Riley Hebler, Winnie LaRochelle, and Aiwen Maiwen all scored 10 points. Hebler scored in double figures for the second straight game and took two charges bringing her season total to 12. Maiwen set a new career-high in points.

Emma Broadstone led the Lynx with 14 points, shooting 2-18 from the floor and 10-11 from the foul line.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 15-1 overall and 8-0 in the Yankee Conference. They will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Herons of Great Bay Community College (6:00pm).
