Auburn, ME - With a short 15-hour turnaround between games, the Mustangs relied on their depth as they coasted to a 95-38 victory over Word of Life (NY).

Zoe Bedford capitalized on making her first career start. Bedford connected on 7 threes to finish with a game-high 21 points. Career highs were a staple in the matinee matchup. First-year standouts, Jolien Defoort and Rose Prieto also recorded new marks. Defoort hit for 18 points while Prieto recorded 16 points and a game-high 8 steals. Reigining YSCC Player of the Week, Ella Lavigne, did not disappoint, finishing with a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

Riley Hebler distributed a game-high 6 assists.

The Huskies were led by Dakota Cutting who finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds.

The Mustangs connected on a season-high 11 threes, swiped 27 steals, dished out 22 assists, and won the battle on the boards 43-32 (+11).

After the game, Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, commented, "Zoe certainly put on a show in the second quarter, hitting a three on five straight possessions. She works incredibly hard in practice, and on her own, and it was nice to see her make the most of her opportunity this afternoon. Jolien and Rosa continue to show amazing progress as first-year players - and Ella... is just Ella. We have to be closing out games more effectively. We have two huge games coming up around the corner with UMaine Fort Kent and UMaine Augusta. We need to play relentlessly for a full 40-minutes in both of those games."

With the win the Mustangs improve to 6-0 overall.
