Randolph, VT & Paul Smith's, NY - The Mustangs took their longest road trip of the year this past weekend for two YSCC games. Despite missing their best defender and second leading scorer, Jolien Defoort, and playing their first games in a month, the Mustangs were able to shake off some rust and pull away for two conference victories.

Game 1:

Mustangs 80 - Knights 61

Four Mustangs cored in double-figures on their way to a sluggish 80-61 win over the hard-working Knights. CM was out-scored in the first quarter 23-22 by the Knights, but quickly got the lead in the second quarter and kept it for the remainder of the game.

Ella Lavigne recorded a double-double with 27 points, 11 rebounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists while shooting over 70% from the floor in just 23-minutes of action. Rosa Prieto connected on four triples and finished with 19 points and 6 assists. Winnie LaRochelle came off the bench and recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Destiny Mora Lopez was perfect from the floor (5-5), finishing with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Yvonne Roberge played a great game for the Knights finishing with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. 

With the win the Mustangs improved to 12-1 overall and 6-0 in the YSCC.

Game 2:
1/12/24 @ Paul Smith's College
Mustangs 79 - Bobcats 47

A fesity Bobcats squad would hang around for the first half, before CM cruised to the 32-point win. Rosa Prieto and Ella Lavigne picked up right where they left off against Vermont State Randolph, scorching Paul Smith's College for a combined 41 points.

Prieto scored a career high 23 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Lavigne hit for 18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists and 2 blocks.

Zoe Bedford hit three triples and added another field goal to score 11 points off the bench.

With the win the Mustangs improved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the Yankee Conference. They will be back in action on Saturday, January 20th at 1:00pm when they host NJCAA nationally ranked, CCRI.
