Men's Hockey gallops past Thomas

Auburn, ME - The Central Maine Mustangs posted a strong outing tonight at the Norway Savings Bank Arena before a crowd of 750 beating visiting Thomas College for their fourth win in a row.

CM went down early in the first on a goal by Jason Diley but rebounded with a Charles Campagna CM tally followed by a Caleb LaBrie snipe assisted by Evan Sullivan and Jordy Knoren. The Mustangs were teased with a Thomas College goal by Andrew Gonyea but that ended the Terrier's bid for their first win in their first try this season.

Central Maine proved to be too strong, skilled, and conditioned for the Terrier's and responded methodically with goals from Matt Poulin, Matthew Henderson, Caleb LaBrie's second of the night, and Evan Sullivan's hat trick evening performance.

"We worked on our defensive zone coverage this week leading up to tonight's game" said Head Coach Kevin Cady. "Thomas College is well coached by Jeff Ross and we knew they had a very strong team last season going to the ACHA Nationals. Central Maine had a solid effort in all three zones tonight. Tyler Freil was confident in net making some very competent saves to keep us in it. We wanted to get Joshua Ehirobio some playing time in the third and he was spectacular on several point blank saves late in the third."

The Mustang's hockey team puts their four game winning streak on the line Sunday at 11:00 am versus University of New England at the Alfond Arena in Biddeford.
