Men's Ice Hockey thrashed by New England College

Henniker, NH - The Mustangs lost to the New England College Pilgrims, 8-1 in a non-ACHA game Sunday.  The Pilgrim's iced four full lines, six defensemen, and three goalies. CM was short-handed with eight forwards and five defensemen; the victim of several injuries to key players. To add insult to injury defenseman Cade Chapman left the game in the second period with a broken skate blade and forced to watch the remainder of the game in the stands. CM's only goal came from Matthew Henderson late in the third period to prevent NEC from earning a shut-out.

Mustang's goalie Kenny Miller was pelted with 52 shots on goal. Miller was relieved in net by Taylor Fillebrown with 5:00 minutes left in the game making two spectacular shots on goal. Fillebrown becomes the first female-athlete to play on the Central Maine Men's Ice Hockey team.

Due to the Mustang's lack of personnel, goaltender Joshua Ehiorobo dressed as a forward.

The Mustang's, with a 9 and 4 record, return to action Wednesday night at 6:15 pm on the road vs Bates College.
