Lady Mustangs land one of Maine's top post players

Auburn, ME – Edward Little High School standout, Jordyn Reynolds, has committed to join the Lady Mustangs this fall.  Reynolds, a KVAC 1st Team All-Conference selection as a junior, is regarded as one of the state's top post players.  Last season, Reynolds was pivotal in Edward Little winning the Class AA North Championship which led to an appearance in the Class AA State Championship game.  In addition to her success on the court, Reynolds has also earned high honors, been inducted into the National Honor Society, and earned the ELHS Citizenship Award.  She will join her older sister, and current CM standout, Brooke, on CM's roster next year.

Reynolds on why she chose CM, "Being able to be a part of the Life Sciences and Honors program is a huge opportunity.  The experience and knowledge I will get from these two programs will really set me up to succeed in the future, both academically, and professionally.  Being able to continue my basketball career with these academic opportunities was more than I could ever ask for.  I love the campus, and how updated all of the labs are, especially the new organic chemistry lab.  I know I will get all the support I need to achieve my goals."

She continued, "Playing college basketball at CM will be a challenge.  Everyone is bigger, faster, and stronger, and they play at a really fast pace.  It's an exciting opportunity and a unique experience.  I am really looking forward to bonding even more with my new teammates and learning from them.  Reuniting with my sister on the court again will be an enjoyable experience for our entire family as well."

Head Coach, Andrew Morong, on Reynolds, "Jordyn has an ever-growing skillset and a tremendous presence every time she steps on the floor, which will lead her to making an immediate impact in our program.  Her ability to defend and alter shots will further bolster our front court, and this presence will allow us to pressure the ball even more than we already do.  Her offensive repertoire has evolved and will continue to do so.  She can finish through contact with either hand, and has the ability to score from the mid-range as well.  Beyond basketball, Jordyn is just a fun person to be around.  She has an infectious personality, which people are naturally drawn to.  This decision was mostly about academics though.  In Jordyn's quest to become a PA, she will be able to save a significant amount of money, and transfer all of her credits out of our amazing Life Sciences program.  In addition to studying in one of the most challenging academic programs available in Maine, she will also participate in our new Life Sciences Honors Program.  Her academic program coupled with the honors option will provide her the opportunity to challenge herself above and beyond in the classroom, expand her knowledge base about her chosen ideal profession, and provide a seamless transfer process to some of the best PA programs in the country."

Reynolds joins talented 2017 recruiting class which also features Kristen Huntress (Lake Region HS) and Natalie Thurber (Wells HS).
