Uniontown, PA - By halftime, CM had 6 players with 2 fouls each, and had been outshot at the foul line 18-1, but still clung to a 2-point lead.  Although fouls were aplenty, CM limited the Seawolves to just 5 first half field goals.  

A better but ugly 3rd quarter, saw the Lady Mustangs only increase their lead to 3, but luckily, they were just getting started.  CM outscored SMCC 23-10 in the final quarter, holding their rival to just 19 points in the entire 2nd half.  

Jenny Schlim (Nottingham, NH) dominated the game with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists.   Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) shot 7-8 from the floor, finishing with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.  Kristina Blais (Lewiston, ME) hit 2 monsterous 3-pointers in the 4th quarter to finish with 10 points.

Rylee Moore (Livermore, ME) and Seve Deery-Deraps (Rangeley, ME) played great defense off the bench.

According to Coach Morong, "In the second half we did a great job of playing defense without fouling.  We took away their first, second, and third scoring options on almost every posession.  When you do that, and dominate on the boards like we did down the stretch, it's tough for a team to score.  I was very proud of how we responded defensively during the last twenty minutes."

Kaylah Abdul led SMCC with 16 points.

With the win CM improves to 32-1 overall and will face #2 Penn State Lehigh Valley in the USCAA DII National Championship Game at 6:00pm on Saturday.  This is the 2nd appearance in the national title game for the Lady Mustangs (2014), and they will look to become the first women's college basketball team from Maine to win a national championship.  The game can be watched live at: http://basketball.theuscaa.com/live
