Presque Isle, ME - The Mustangs took the trip north to Presque Isle for a doubleheader against UMPI on Sunday.

In game one, it was a frustrating for the Mustangs as they put the bat on the ball the entire game and had very little to show for it in a 5-4 loss. Garret Harvey pitched well enough to win going five innings giving up two runs and striking out five.

Hudson Burris had a hit and two RBI to lead the Mustangs offensively. Teddy McFarland, Gage Hubbard, Mason Booker and Levi Tibbetts also recorded hits.

In game 2, the Mustangs offense came alive with 11 hits en route to a 10-4 victory. Mason Booker had three hits including a two run homer, a double and four RBI. Burris and McFarland were also repeat hitters.

Nick Paul, Jeff Meisner and Logan Carpenter combined for 11 strikeouts and only two earned runs on the mound for the Mustangs. Meisner picked up the win in relief.

After the game, Head Baseball Coach, Ryan Palmer, commented, "Game one was definitely frustrating, but thats baseball. I thought our at bats were good and we hit the ball hard. Just not much to show for it. I am happy that we did not allow game one to impact us in game two. We continued to hit the ball well and again got great pitching."

The Mustangs are back in action on Tuesday afternoon as they travel to Bridgton Academy. First pitch scheduled for 4:00pm.
