Baseball splits doubleheader with Thomas

Waterville, ME - The Mustangs traveled to Waterville to take on the Terriers of Thomas College on Sunday in their fall season finale. 

Game 1

CMCC 3 - Thomas 16

In game 1, the Mustangs struggled finding their offense and committed a couple errors that led to big innings for the Terriers in a 16-3 loss. 

Hudson Burris, Lee Robertson, Colton Frisbie, and Garren Post each had singles for the Mustangs. 

Tervor Phelps, Hunter Lee, and Garett Harvey each toed the rubber for CM.

Game 2

CMCC 9 - Thomas 8

In game 2 of a doubleheader, the Mustangs came from behind to beat the Thomas Terriers 9-8. After a Brandon Gour single, Logan Carpenter's RBI single scored pinch runner, Trevor Phelps, in the top of the 9th for the game winning run.

Hudson Burris led the offense with three hits and Gage Hubbard had a pair of singles. Lee Robertson had three runs scored. 

Kyle Delano, Connor Madden, Jeff Meisner, Derek Roman, Brody Walsh, Grady Cummings, and Nick Paul shared the pitching duties with Walsh picking up the win and Paul with the save. 

After the double header, Head Baseball Coach, Ryan Palmer, commented, "In game one, we uncharacteristically committed a couple errors that led to big innings for Thomas. I was pleased that we rebounded in game two and were able to end our fall season with a win."
