Mustangs fall to Hawks in Semis

The CM Mustangs' baseball season came to an end on Saturday after losing their YSCC semifinal matchup to York County CC 5-2 at The Ballpark in Old Orchard.

The Mustangs scored two runs in the first inning on a Garren Post two-run triple that plated Lee Robertson and Brandon Gour. Robertson, Colton Frisbie, and Trevor Phelps were the only other Mustangs to record hits.

Levi Tibbetts didn't have his best stuff but pitched enough to win, going five innings, giving up four runs, three earned, and striking out ten. Garrett Harvey pitched the next three innings, and Connor Madden pitched the ninth.

After the game, four Mustangs players were recognized with all-conference honors. Levi Tibbetts was named YSCC Pitcher of the Year. Lee Robertson and Brandon Gour were first-team All-Conference, and Brady Vincent was Honorable Mention.

"We picked a bad day to have a bad day," said head coach Ryan Palmer. "Their pitcher kept us off balance, and we couldn't get anything going."
