Paul Smiths, NY – CMCC Men's Basketball wrapped up a five-game road trip and three-game weekend set with an 88-69 victory over Paul Smith's College. The Mustangs pulled away from the Bobcats in the second half thanks to 21 points from Khaden Moore and a double-double from captain Da'Vohn Jonas.
Central Maine held a narrow three-point lead at halftime, heading into the break up 36-33. However, the team put together its best second half of the entire road trip, scoring 52 to take a 19-point victory. The Mustangs shot 44.0% from the field and dominated the hosts on the boards, outrebounding PSC 61 to 27.
Moore put together his seventh 20+ point performance of the campaign with Jonas and Riley Bowen joining him in double digits with 10 points apiece. Jonas added 15 rebounds and six assists for one of best games of the year from the freshman out of Kingswood, TX while Bowen tied his career-high mark set against Paul Smith's in their home match-up on December 7th.
Wyatt Hathaway added nine points while Will Duke and Keiontay Marsh tallied eight each. Central Maine has now won six straight games against Paul Smith's with season sweeps the last three years.
CMCC improved to 14-8 overall and 10-2 in YSCC play with the win. The Mustangs remain first in the conference standings heading into the final three weeks of the regular season.
Next up, Central Maine takes on UMaine Augusta at home as part of a men's and women's doubleheader on Wednesday, January 29th. Tip-off against the Moose is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
