Men's Ice Hockey dominates Nor'Easters in ACHA play

Auburn, ME - After arriving back around 1am from their road game at Wentworth, the Mustangs had a quick turnaround for their first NECHA match-up against the University of New England. From the moment the puck dropped the Mustangs were able to find their legs and control and pressure the opponent. However, it was UNE who found the first goal of the game. The Mustangs kept to their game plan and added 2 quick goals to bring a lead to the locker-room.

The 2nd period was probably the best period the Mustangs have played all year, controlled possession and adding 38 total shots for the period. They rewarded themselves with 2 goals, making the score after 2 period 4-1.

In the 3rd period, the objective was to get that +5 differential for ranking purposes and the Mustangs kept skating as their conditioning started to take over. The home team was able to roll all 4 lines, and add 6 more goals to make the final score 10-2. The Mustangs team depth showed as they had 10 different goal scorers!!

after the game, Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, Jordy Knoren, commented, "We played a complete 60-minutes tonight, everybody was involved moving their feet and our possession, puck movement and pressure were excellent from the first minute to the last. We are super proud of the team. Having ten different goal scorers and outshooting UNE 81-20 showed what Mustangs Hockey is capable of."
