Mustangs Beat Michigan State
Lansing Michigan,

Four games in five days and facing their toughest opponent of the season thus far, the Mustangs took on Michigan State at their house with the Spartans being ranked #6 in the country. The message in the locker-room was clear give your self a chance trust the system and capitalize on your opportunities

The Mustangs came out flying in the 1st period suprising the Spartans getting themselves a quick 3-0 lead. Sebastian Couturier was solid in net and the Mustang would take the 3-0 score into the 1st intermission.

2nd period the Spartans would apply lots of pressure but it was the Mustangs would find a tip goal to go up 4-0, the game was far from over and the Spartans earned a key goal a couple minutes before the end of the 2nd period.

3rd period the Mustangs didn't have much left in the tank and the Spartans clearly had some fresher legs which would see them score the 4-2 and 4-3 with 11 minutes left to play. Gabe Poirier scored a neat backhand goal to give the Mustangs a 2-goal lead which gave them just enough breathing room. The Spartans would score another goal but the Mustangs fought with their hearts to make it a final score of 5-4.

Coach Knoren'' Unbelievable what this team accomplished this week, going 3-1 shows that we can play at this level and belong in the top of the Nation, so much to be proud of I know the team feels the support from the school, faculty, community and parents it makes them work even harder and they don't take anything for granted.  We are far from done and will continue to work hard and get better and cleanup some details''
