Biddeford, ME - Only six days apart, the Mustangs were tasked with facing UNE for their 2nd matchup for the season. The Mustangs were able to establish their game after a big save from goaltender Sebastian Couturier. Gabe Poirier would continue his hot streak and explode for 4 goals in the first period. Jack Keefe was able to get himself on the scoresheet giving the Mustangs a comfortable 5-0 lead.
In the 2nd period the Mustangs were not able to convert their chances and it was UNE who was able to utilize a mistake and make the game a little closer at 5-1. Conditioning has been a big part of this Mustangs team, and they were able to show it again in the third, continuously putting pressure on the opponent and playing some good combination hockey to add 4 more goals and make the final score 9-2.
After the game Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, Jordy Knoren, commented, "We always look to fill all the roles in our team, and we feel like this year we have all the roles. Everybody is involved and committing to their role within the team. That has been a huge part of our early success. We tell the team all the time, 'do not get complacent, let's get better every day.' We have continued to do the little things the right way.''
