Hockey falls to Dartmouth in OT
Hanover NH, The Mustangs had a tough road game against one of the better NECHA opponents Dartmouth college.

1st period the Mustangs got themselves in some penalty trouble and Dartmouth was able to convert 2 goals on powerplays, but Jason Melanson finished a beautiful shot to make the score a 2-1 game.

2nd period Dartmouth would find 2 more powerplay goals and the Mustangs now found themselves in a tough position being 3 behind on the Road. A crucial goal would happen in the later 2nd period to limit the damage going down 2 in intermission as Gabe Poirier found a backdoor tap in

3rd period the Mustangs came out with great positivity and Gabe Poirier finished a snipe after Jack Keefe won the draw to make it a 1 goal game. They wouldn't stop pressing and Nate Marcotte picked off a pass and had unbelievable patience to walk around the goaltender to make it a 4-4 game. The end of the game both teams kept it defensively sound taking the game to overtime.

Overtime the Mustangs had a great chance to finish it but unfortunately a individual solo from Dartmouth would see the Mustangs dropping their first game of the year in overtime.

Coach Knoren Said'' Obviously this one stings for the team, outscoring a team 4-0 in 5-5 play but giving up 4 powerplay goals hurt us tonight. Being down 4-1 against a tough team really showed that we have resiliency within in the team to get back in hockey game and getting the game to overtime and earning ourselves at least a point for the standings is a positive we have to take out of tonight, however we can be better and more discipline in certain situations''
