Grand Rapids Michigan, The Mustangs know they needed to start their trip strong and they did just that by coming away with a 9-2 victory against Davenport University

 

1st period the Mustangs took control of the game early and established lots of zone time. Cody Ivey would find a rebound to make 1-0 at intermission. Mustangs outshot Davenport 15-3 in the 1st period 

 

The Mustangs kept the speed up and were able to find more goals in the 2nd period making it 4-2 with 1 period left to play

 

The 3rd period the Mustangs frustrated Davenport by playing solid defense and scoring 5 more goals to make the final score 9-2

 

Coach Knoren said'' Solid first game the guys sticked to the game plan and played possesion and disciplined hockey. This weekend will be a test with facing the number #6 and number #8 in the country! I know our team has been waiting for these games and they will be ready to go"
