Auburn, ME – CM got back to its winning ways tonight slapping the UMA Moose by an 87-71 score.  The Mustangs are coming off a rare two game losing streak and needed a win going into the final series with VTC this upcoming weekend. 

Tobias Jense came off the bench to record 19 points and 10 rebounds to keep the Mustangs in front.  At 6'10", Jense is slowly coming into his own, playing more minutes, working hard in practice, and holding his own in games. He will be a factor down the stretch.

CM jumped out early and maintained a ten-point lead most of the first half, going to the locker room up 38-28 at halftime.  The stubborn Moose would not quit.  Elijah Smith registered 30 points on a 10-19 shooting performance to keep the Moose around.  Despite being defended, he hit shot after shot.

The home team pulled ahead in the second half with their run and shoot offense.  After Jense's stat line, Matt Attard went 4-8 from the three-point line hitting for 14 points, Nicolas Dierynck hit of 13 points and added 6 rebounds.  Khalid Ibn showed his potential tonight running the Mustangs attack hitting for 12 points, hauled down 13 rebounds, added 4 assists and completed his performance with 3 steals.  His defense was impressive all night and bodes well for him the next two weeks.

According to Coach Gonyea, "we needed to come tonight and play like CM plays.  After a weekend of defeats to NHTI and Machias, our bench needed to step up and they did tonight.  I thought Khalid filled in for Corey David and we didn't lose a beat.  We need to bring that momentum to VTC this weekend."

The win makes the Mustangs 16-7 and 11-3 in conference play.
