Allie Ablondi, a senior at Tourtellotte Memorial High School (Thompson, CT) has committed to play basketball for the Lady Mustangs this fall.  Ablondi is a 2-time ECC 1st Team All-Star, and helped lead her team to an ECC Small Division Championship this season.  The 2-time Norwich Bulletin All-Area selection, averaged 13.6 points per game over her final two seasons, helping the Lady Tigers to a 32-11 record over that time span.

According to Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, "Allie is a threat to score as soon as she crosses half court, and she will fit a vitally important role for us this fall.  She is well known for her three point shooting ability, which we will certainly need, but I am very excited to watch her game grow as she adds to her offensive repertoire.  She has the potential to have some big moments for us this coming year."

Ablondi, on why she chose CM, "I loved the pace of the game, it is so fast, and the girls work so hard, regardless of the scoreboard.  There are high expectations for each individual player and for the program as well, and I am looking forward to being challenged every day.  I loved the size and feel of the school; I'm coming from a relatively small school, so it was very important to me to find a similar fit."

She continued, "I think my high school experience has prepared me in a unique way for the college level.  My freshman and sophomore years we combined for just 6 wins, but we followed that up with a 15-7 junior year and a 17-4 senior year.  This year we won the ECC Small Division Championship, which was the culmination of a lot of hard work over four years.  I think knowing how to lose and how to win is very important, and I have also seen value of hard work paying off in the long run.  All of these things help motivate me as a student-athlete."

Ablondi joins Trayneice Mims (New Haven, CT) as the Lady Mustangs' second recruit from the Constitution State.
