Billerica, MA - Holly DeCourcey, from Shawsheen Tech, has committed to attend and play basketball at CM in the fall.  DeCourcey, a spark-plug and standout point guard for the Rams, is a tremendous playmaker with great vision and seemingly unlimited energy.  As a junior she was named a Lowell Sun 2nd Team All-Star, and an All-Star by the Boston Globe.  Entering this year, DeCourcey was named a Player to Watch by the Boston Herald. 

In addition to her basketball skillset, Holly holds the Shawsheen Tech school records for the triple jump and long jump.  She placed 9th in the state for triple jump, and 13th in the state in cross country.  DeCourcey is also an Honor Roll student who is a Citizenship Award Winner and SkillsUSA participant.

According to Head Women's Basketball Coach, Andrew Morong, "Holly will make an immediate impact on our program, not just as a tremendous basketball player, but as a phenomenal young woman as well.  She plays with such high intensity and effort, it's a joy to watch.  Holly sees the court so well, and is a truly a playmaker.  She can make everyone around her better, which is what you need out of the point guard spot.  She is aggressive by nature and plays with a chip on her shoulder - our CM fans will love watching her play."

DeCourcey on her commitment, "I loved everything about the campus.  The size of the school and classrooms, the dorms and just the beautiful scenery really appealed to me.  I think this is a great way for me to continue my basketball career and get a great education that is affordable.  I am really looking forward to this opportunity.  Being pushed every day in practice by better, more experienced players, is only going to help me improve, and I am really looking forward to playing at such a fast pace."
