Lady Mustangs start 2nd Semester Off with Easy Win
Randolph, VT - In their first game of the 2nd semester, the Lady Mustangs dominated the Knights of VTC in the paint, and in transition to run away with a 81-51 Yankee Conference victory.  CM had 4 players score in double figures, and rushed out to an 18-6 first quarter lead.
Freshman standout, Seve Deery-Deraps (Rangeley, ME) led all scorers with a career high 23 points, including four 3's.  Alex Rowe was dominant once again, finishing with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and a team high 5 steals, while Nicole Hamblin (Fayette, ME) flirted with another triple-double with, 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists.  In her first full collegiate game, Taylor Esty (Rangeley, ME) also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Mustangs forced 25 turnovers and held VTC to just 20.8% shooting.  CM also dominated the boards, winning the interior battle with a 54-28 rebound advantage.
Macy Welch (North Anson, ME) played a great floor game before suffering an injury, finishing with 7 points and 11 rebounds.
With the win, CM improves to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the Yankee Conference.  They will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Rutland, VT to take on the #1 ranked USCAA DII and defending Yankee Conference Champions, College of St. Joseph.
